Day at Griffith Park

Supercalifragilisticexpialidousious! Reminds me for some reason of Mary Poppins!

We decided to take off to Griffith park in L.A. and mix things up a bit. What a beautiful day! We couldn't have asked for more perfect weather, who'd have thought that it was January.

We started off at the pony rides, only Blake rode because the lines for the bigger ponies were so long. Unfortunately, we didn't get any stills of Blake just video! When I figure out how to add that here .....I'll do it.

Next, we drove on up to the Carousel. It was so happily situated on a hill surrounded by trees with these beautiful pink blossoms. The carousel was placed there in 1937 and the quality of the pipes is top notch for it's time and still sounds so good! The horses were different than the carousel at Disneyland....definitely antique. They were so unique and the tails were made of real horse hair! Thank goodness it was spared from the fire that recently burned through the park. It would have been such a loss. We could see the burned hills around the parking area just above the carousel.

Happy New Year

All of the kids on New Year's Eve at our house. This group of kids has known eachother for 4 years! They go way back!
Happy New Year! We got together with our good friends Kim and Dan and their kids, Hollie and Keith and their kids! We did a progressive dinner starting at my house and then off to Hollies for dessert and then to Kim's house for the countdown! (Jeffrey took this picture, pretty good for a 10 year old boy.) What a fun night!

December

Here comes Santa Clause.....I think Blake thought that if he couldn't see Santa then Santa couldn't see him! You would never know that he screamed with excitement when Santa walked in!!!

Birthday Girl

Camryn loves that she has the same hair style as Lacey

Two cuties at the table in the American Girl Cafe`.
They had the sweetest chairs especially for the doll!

December ~ What a Month!

I turned 32, Camryn turned 6 and we celebrated Christmas! Talk about being a little busy!

My own birthday was just another year (it was nice to celebrate but not dwell on) but for Camryn, hers was a day to remember! I took her to America Girl Place in Hollywood. She had no idea that we would be going there. I took the kids to school like I did every day, but then I went back and picked her up at 10:00 and told her that we were going to spend her birthday shopping and lunching and spending "girl time" together as we call it in our house! She just about burst when I told her where we were going just minutes before we actually arrived. She picked out her doll that looked just like her of course and then we had lunch in the American Girl Cafe`. We shopped and shopped and had a great time! "Was it worth ditching school???" She nodded with so much enthusiasm and hugged her doll "Lacey" tight.
